Activate your KauID - Help for international students
To login to My Kau or Ladok for Students, you need have a confirmed user account if you have a Swedish personal identity number.
If you instead have a personal code number that you obtained from UniversityAdmissions.se, you do not need a confirmed account.
If you get an error message when logging into My Kau or Ladok for Students that a "Confirmed user account is required", then you need to confirm your account using one of the following methods:
Use BankID or Freja+
If you have access to BankID or Freja+, go to Activate your KauID and confirm your account using one of these services.
Activation code by post (for students who are resident in Sweden)
If you do not have BankID or Freja+ but are registered in Sweden (have a folkbokföringsadress), you can request an activation code by post.
Steps:
- Go to Activate your KauID
- Select "Activate with an activation code".
- Choose "Order an activation code."
- Enter your details and select "Normal post" (do not select Email).
Activation code by post (for students living outside Sweden)
If you do not live in Sweden, you must confirm your identity manually.
You will need:
- A valid passport or EU/EEA identity card
- A utility bill (e.g. electricity or mobile phone bill) showing your name and home address
Steps:
- Take a clear photo of the photo page of your passport or your EU/EES identity card (your name and date of birth must be clearly visible).
- Take a photo of your utility bill clearly showing your name and home address.
- Send the photos to Student Support via email or post and request an activation code via post to your international address.
- Student Support will check your details and send the activation code via post to the address on the utility bill you provided.
Important information
- The address must not be in Sweden.
- This process takes some time, contact us well in advance.
- The activation code you receive will allow you to set your password.
- If you forget your password you will have to repeat the entire process.
